There is a real need for extended families to maintain their family relationships. Family Directory can help!

Margaret

Every year for a Christmas present for my whole extended family, I spent many many hours trying to contact people and update their phone numbers and email addresses. I would print out a multi-page list and hand it out at our big family party Within weeks, I would get calls telling me that some of the information was outdated or wrong. Or that I had left a newy married spouse off of the list. The ability in Family Directory to make changes anytime, and have the information available immediately to the whole family is a game changer.

I spent over a year putting together a full family booklet with a page for parents and their children and their children. I had birthdates and marriage dates and other information. I got someone in the family with a printing company to finally print and staple-bind the big booklet under a cover. People really appreciated it. But the whole booklet is now out of date. And I don’t have the energy to do it all again. Family Directory doesn’t have the genealogy information that I included, except for birth dates. But it does keep family relationships for people who are alive. And it makes keeping information current relatively easy. Some family members are too lazy to even update their own information. But others of us can do it for them, right on the spot, as we meet up with them.

I have been good at attending our annual family reunions. When I get there, I try to meet as many different people as possible. My problem is that even though I can recognize most of the people, I can’t always remember their names - which is an embarrassment. It will change everything for me, if I can just look up someone in that family and then check their siblings or kids, to be able to put a name to a face. In fact, I think that if I look at the faces and names before I go, I will remember quite a few of them that I otherwise would not recall.
